ALPOL Cosmétique Unveils Three Hybrid Sun Protections

The hybrid sun protection category is accelerating in Europe. ALPOL Cosmétique has made this trend a priority, presenting three new product innovations at the in-cosmetics 2026 trade show.
According to the company's marketing and communication manager, Clémence Thory, this is a recent but exploding market trend. "It's a recent trend, but it's exploding on the market," Thory told Premium Beauty News. Pharmacy brands were the first to propose this daily protection gesture.
Three Launches for 2026
The French manufacturer's 2026 lineup targets consumers seeking multifunctional products. The launches combine high SPF protection with additional skincare or makeup benefits, focusing on light, sensory textures.
| Product | Key Features |
|---|---|
| CC Crème SPF 50+ | Skinminimalism positioning, encapsulated pigments, melting lightweight texture, nude finish. |
| Perfectint Serum | Fluid tinted serum with a dry-powder finish, SPF 50, contains ectoine for hydration. |
| Ultra-fluide anti-taches SPF 50+ | Triple action: protects against photo-aging, prevents new UV-induced spots, illuminates complexion. |
Thory describes the CC Crème as a highly protective product with an ultra-soft finish. It can be used alone or as a makeup base. The Perfectint Serum represents the care-first approach. "We are not makeup experts and we do not seek to be," Thory stated. The goal remains a care and protection gesture with ultra-sensory textures.
Protection as the Foundation
For ALPOL Cosmétique, the primary function of any hybrid product must remain sun protection. Angéline Tireau, the company's prospective, sun care and tests manager, emphasized this core philosophy.
She explained that a complementary benefit adds value but also presents extra formulation challenges. Not all cosmetic benefits are compatible with a sunscreen base. Photosensitizing molecules like retinol are excluded for toxicological reasons.
This requirement guides all the manufacturer's developments. To limit the risk of costly in vivo test failures, the company has invested in a Labsphere device for in vitro SPF measurement. This screening test evaluates a formula's performance before it undergoes standardized in vivo testing.
Formulation and Future Focus
The hybrid formulas rely mostly on organic filters. These are more compatible with the fluid, sensory textures desired by today's consumers.
Mineral filters remain reserved for specific targets, particularly consumers with sensitive skin. Tireau notes this is due to their greasier texture and the risk of white cast upon application, which is more visible on medium to dark skin tones.
Formulating a hybrid sunscreen represents a significant challenge. ALPOL Cosmétique plans to continue in this direction. Thory confirms the axis will be pursued for the future with new variants, such as stick formats. The company sees strong market expectation and believes it holds genuine expertise in this domain.
