Beauty product giant Henkel has taken the step to voluntarily recall select batches of its Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip 6.76 fl. Oz/200 ml in the US. The move comes after the company discovered a potential packaging issue that may cause the product to leak under pressure, posing a risk of explosion.
The issue was first reported by a customer who experienced bruising on the hand, with no other injuries identified. Henkel claims to have learned about the situation through one customer complaint and two salon reports.
The affected product comes in aluminium cans in 25 lots with specific batch codes. Consumers are advised to return the affected products to their place of purchase for a full refund. Henkel is conducting this voluntary recall with the knowledge and cooperation of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The affected Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip 6.76 Oz/200ml has been distributed in the US through 21 distributors in 12 states, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, and Washington. It was also sold to hair professionals and consumers at a retail level.
No other Henkel products are subject to this recall, and consumers can rest assured that Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip 6.76 fl. Oz/200ml with codes not included in the recall are safe to use.
