Kiehl's Opens European Flagship on London's Carnaby Street
Kiehl's has opened its second standalone West End boutique and European flagship store at 43 Carnaby Street. The 1,300 sq ft, two-floor location launched on 1st October 2026 and features a content creator studio and interactive retail experiences.

Kiehl's opened its European flagship store at 43 Carnaby Street, London on Thursday 1 October 2026. The new store spans two floors and covers 1,300 square feet, marking Kiehl's second standalone boutique in London's West End.
Experiential features and customer engagement
The store is designed as an immersive destination. It includes a photo booth and custom screen printing for customer engagement. An interactive Brew Bar matches visitors' moods and skin concerns with key skincare ingredients. Derma Readers provide in-store skin analysis.
The entire upper floor is dedicated to Kiehl's first European content creator studio. This space is designed for filming, collaboration, and community events. The studio is a first for the brand in Europe. The photo booth and custom screen printing also offer ways to engage with the store's apothecary heritage.
Brand context and market significance
The opening coincides with Kiehl's upcoming 175th anniversary. Founded in New York in 1851, the brand has retained its apothecary-inspired character. This flagship is its second stand-alone boutique in London's West End, the first being at 55 Monmouth Street. It brings Kiehl's UK boutique count to 18.
The store reflects Kiehl's continued investment in freestanding retail to build brand awareness and loyalty. It is designed around Kiehl's New York heritage but offers a distinctly London-focused shopping experience. The location is expected to draw beauty and skincare lovers, West End shoppers, and Kiehl's superfans. According to its parent company L'Oréal, the UK is one of Kiehl's three biggest markets worldwide. L'Oréal also states that Kiehl's creamy eye treatment with avocado is the number-one prestige eye cream in the UK.
Retail landscape and partnership impact
The launch follows Sephora's opening of its first UK boutique-format store on Carnaby Street in July. Sephora's location is 2,691 sq ft and features Beauty Scan technology. Kiehl's selected Carnaby Street as a dynamic new central hub for beauty. Shaftesbury Capital, which manages the estate, sees the opening as strengthening its partnership with the brand.
Niki Lo, General Manager for Kiehl's UK, said: "Carnaby Street is a legendary retail destination, and it is rapidly evolving into a key epicentre for beauty in London." William Oliver, Director of Retail and Restaurant Leasing at Shaftesbury Capital, added: "Bringing Kiehl’s to the heart of Carnaby Street strengthens a great partnership." He noted that prime retail space can serve as both a direct shopping destination and a showroom for online customers.
The store features Kiehl's skincare, bodycare, and haircare collections alongside seasonal beauty essentials. The first 200 visitors received free GET BAKED with no sign-up required.
