Skims Beauty will launch in 2027. Founder Kim Kardashian confirmed the date in a social media post on September 22, 2026.

Kardashian responded to a user on X, formerly Twitter, who asked about the beauty line's arrival. "Next year!!!! I can't wait for you guys to see!" she wrote. The celebrity mogul had first announced plans for Skims Beauty in late 2025 during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, calling the forthcoming line "so fucking major."

Building the Beauty Team

In November 2025, the brand appointed Diarrha N'Diaye-Mbaye, founder of Ami Colé, as its Executive Vice President of Beauty. That same month, a new investment round valued the Skims company at $5 billion. The move signaled a serious commitment to expanding beyond its core shapewear and clothing business.

Hints in Fashion Collaborations

Earlier clues about the beauty launch appeared in June 2026. Kardashian hinted at what was to come through a clothing collaboration with artist Aurel Schmidt. A limited edition print for Skims apparel featured motifs of lipstick, lip liner, makeup brushes, and concealer. Beauty influencer Glamzilla highlighted the prints in a TikTok video, noting their resemblance to products from Kardashian's now-defunct KKW Beauty brand, but reimagined with Skims branding.

A History in Beauty

Skims Beauty represents Kardashian's third attempt to build a major beauty brand. She first launched KKW Beauty in 2017, focusing on makeup and fragrance. In 2021, beauty conglomerate Coty acquired a 20% stake in the business for $200 million. The brand was relaunched a year later as SKKN by Kim, offering skincare, makeup, fragrance, and homeware.

In a significant consolidation move, Skims bought back Coty's stake in March 2026, along with Kardashian's remaining 80% share. This brought all of the star's ventures under one corporate umbrella. The SKKN by Kim brand was subsequently shut down over the summer in anticipation of its relaunch under the Skims Beauty name.

Early Forays and Reactions

The company has already tested the beauty waters with mixed results. Last year, Skims unveiled the Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap, a bandage-style product designed to contour the jawline. It faced criticism online, with some comparing its look to the character Hannibal Lecter from The Silence of the Lambs. Skims also has an ongoing collaboration with Tangle Teezer, producing a range of hairbrushes in the brand's signature colors.

Cosmetics Business has contacted Skims for further comment on the 2027 launch plans.
