Dr. Barbara Sturm Upgrades Anti-Aging Serum with NAD+ Tech

Dr. Barbara Sturm has unveiled an upgraded version of its Super Anti-Aging Serum. The new formula incorporates what the brand calls next-generation bioactives and ingredients designed to support the skin's NAD+ levels, continuing its focus on skin longevity.

This reformulation builds on the original serum, a staple in the Molecular Cosmetics collection since 2015. According to the brand, the product is engineered to tackle the key hallmarks of skin youth: hydration, firmness, elasticity, plumpness, and radiance.

Formula and Key Ingredients

At the core of the new serum is Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), an antioxidant enzyme intended to neutralize free radicals and guard against oxidative stress. It is paired with Sunflower Sprout Extract, which Dr. Barbara Sturm says helps support the skin's NAD+ levels. NAD+ is a molecule involved in cellular energy production and is a growing area of interest in longevity research.

The blend also includes the brand's signature Biofermented Purslane, along with Skullcap, Glutathione, and Hyaluronic Acid. Together, these components aim to bolster skin resilience while addressing visible ageing signs like fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and uneven texture.

Clinical and Consumer Test Results

The brand cites a clinical study involving 30 volunteers over 84 days. Dr. Barbara Sturm claims the serum delivered significant improvements across several measured parameters.

A separate consumer test, also with 30 volunteers, yielded high agreement rates. In that test, 90% of participants agreed their skin appeared more youthful. Also, 97% reported smoother skin and 93% said their skin felt hydrated and nourished.

Dr. Barbara Sturm stated: "This new, enhanced formula, our multi-active serum concentrate, is clinically shown to reactivate all hallmarks of skin youth in three months."

Brand Context and Availability

The launch aligns with Dr. Sturm's overarching skincare philosophy, which emphasizes molecular science and an anti-inflammatory approach. The German aesthetics doctor founded her brand in 2014, translating medical research into products meant to support the skin's natural functions.

The brand has been expanding its UK presence this year. This includes a residency at the Claridge's spa in London's Mayfair and a launch with the health and wellness retailer Healf.

The upgraded Super Anti-Aging Serum launches on September 3rd. It will be sold through Dr. Barbara Sturm's website, spas, and boutiques.
